South Carolina Legal Services (SCLS) developed a Disaster Recovery/Business Resumption Plan that covers its twelve offices across the state-three of which are coastal offices located in a high risk areas susceptible to hurricanes, floods and other disasters. The objective of the plan is to safeguard the lives of staff members and any clients who may be present at the offices during an emergency; to be available to clients following an emergency; to avoid disruption of program operations to the extent possible; and to minimize loss of agency assets and facilities. The plan is continually under review.
