Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania (LASP) developed a Language Assistance Policy for Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals and individuals with hearing or visual impairments. LASP adopted the policy to ensure that LEP and hearing or visually impaired individuals can communicate effectively with staff and receive adequate information and legal assistance. The policy covers the following areas: 1. Assessment of Language Needs 2. Interpretation 3. Translation 4. Training of Staff 5. Monitoring
