"Too Few Lawyers in Areas of Poverty" Map

Georgia Legal Services Program
Monday, September 30, 2013

To demonstrate the need for pro bono assistance in Georgia’s rural counties, Georgia Legal Services Program created a map that highlights “persistently poor” counties with five or fewer lawyers.

Poverty data from the map is from the US Census Bureau and the University of Georgia. Data for the number of lawyers in each county is from the State Bar of Georgia Membership Department.
