State Needs Assessment

Legal Aid of Nebraska - 070069

Abstract Number: 070069

July 2007

Legal Aid of Nebraska (LAN) recently released their State Needs Assessment Report. The report was based on surveys of low-income people in all parts of the state, legal services employees, judges, attorneys, human services providers, and focus group discussions with low-income communities. The report found that 86 percent of the legal needs of low-income Nebraskans go unmet. The report also found the overwhelming majority of low-income people who received services from LAN were "very satisfied" or "somewhat satisfied" with their experience and most agree that LAN does not have enough resources to fulfill its mission. The State Needs Assessment Report includes the following sections:

Methodologies
Executive Summary
Conclusions and Recommendations
