Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) developed a Board of Directors Responsibilities and Expectations document. The document lists the different responsibilities and expectations a current board member as well as a new board member should be aware of.
Through this document the board recognizes that its responsibilities include ensuring:
• Delivery of high quality legal services to the client community; • Sound planning and policies; • Good management; • Sound resources and financial dealings; • Compliance with legal requirements; and • Good governance.
